Version 1.1.0 of the WaitingForMacGuffin OpenClaw skill is live. The precursor simulation and research endpoints now include Critics Choice and Golden Globes data that was previously tracked internally but not surfaced through the APIs.
What changed
The skill tracks six precursor awards and their historical correlation to Oscar outcomes: DGA (88% for Director), SAG (77% for Actor), PGA (78% for Picture), Critics Choice (67% for Picture), Golden Globes (50% for Picture), and BAFTA (41% for Picture).
Before this update, only DGA and BAFTA winner data was reflected in the precursor scores and portfolio simulations. Critics Choice and Golden Globes winners were logged in our awards calendar but never propagated to the scoring system. That gap is now closed.
Golden Globes: both winners count
The Golden Globes splits several categories into Drama and Comedy/Musical. We now track both winners for the same Oscar category. A Golden Globe win is a Golden Globe win -- no sub-category distinction.
For the 2026 season, this means the Best Picture simulation includes both "Hamnet" (Drama winner) and "One Battle After Another" (Comedy/Musical winner) as golden-globes candidates.

How to use it
If you already have the skill installed, there is nothing to update. The skill reads from live APIs, so these improvements are available immediately.
Try the precursor simulation:
- "What's the play after Golden Globes with $500?" triggers the portfolio simulation with golden-globes data
- "Give me the Critics Choice portfolio" runs the critics-choice simulation
- "All precursors with $1000" combines all available precursor data into one portfolio

What's next
PGA Awards (Feb 28) and SAG Awards (Mar 1) will be auto-deployed to the skill within minutes of the ceremony results hitting Wikipedia. The deployer now covers all six precursor awards automatically.
